NOTE: These cranes were released with 4 whooping cranes to try to get the whooping cranes to integrate into the wild and migrate normally. RELEASE DATE: 1st day of migration. Arrived Oct 21. PRE-RELEASE TRAINING: other- trained to roost in water to reduce predation. SURROGATE PROCEDURE: Tried with geese before cranes. MAIN CAUSE OF DEATH: 1 collision w/ ultralight, 1 shot, 1 run in w/ electric fence.
