Birds were captured from North Brother Island (41°06'S, 174°26'E) and Motumahanga in the Sugar Loaf Islands (39°03'S, 174°01'E). There are ~600 pairs on North Brother Island as of 1995 and "several thousand" on Motumahanga as of 1961. Transfer time was only recorded from NBI and not Motumahanga.
