74 robins were caught in Pureora forest. 14 males were released back to the capture site. 30 robins were then taken to Waotu, and the other 30 were taken to Hunua Ranges Regional Parkland. Captures took place over 6 consecutive days: 24-29 May 2005. During the weeks before catching, 111 robins were trained along lines 24-33 with mealworms. This revealed the tamest birds for transfer.
