Notes: What's This?
In 2008, 93 birds were caught between April 13-20th 2008. Transfer took place on April 20th, 2008. 2 birds were re-released due to a faulty band and crusty belly skin (Total = 91 whiteheads for transfer). 41/91(45%) went to Moturoa Island and the remainder to Cascade Kauri Park (see “Release Events”). Birds were health and disease screened. They were mist-netted using lure calls in approved areas in the source site. They were then housed in a green aviary until the transfer date where they were caught using hand nets at 8:30AM. No birds died during transfer.
